Hi! i gave hialgo a try last night and i was shocked, i set the image quality at %75 and i cant notice pixelation at all but a lot smoother now!
I noticed you added FC3 now, is there maybe any special technical specs about games that allows you to add hialgo?
I guess is must be pretty hard to customize hialgo for specifical games, but i was thinking, it whould be insane if someday we can download it and apply to any game just like sweetFX, whould be a gaming MUST BE!
Thanks, cya!  [smile]

Thanks! [smile] The only 2 things special about those games are that a) They are DX9, and b) They are popular. We are also working on MW3 and PlanetSide2. If you have any additional suggestions for popular DX9 games - please suggest!

About why DX9 and not DX10 or DX11 - simply we started with DX9, didn't have the time/resources to move to DX10/11 - but we will! [wink]

Four dx 9 games that i would like to suggest are : Crysis 1 , Dark Soul , and GTA 4 , and metro 2033. [biggrin]

I put Crysis 1 at the top piority because it was poor optimzied , fps suddenly drop suddenly even you have got a good machine . Over-putting trees cause the fps drop heavily , and fps responsive is very slow . Just tried to aim from the gun , it drop from 30 to 25 and then return to 30 . Moreover ,in level 2 or "Recovery" , Shuttering occured and frame drops terribly to 15 fps due to the tones of solders and bulding . Dark soul on pc is just very bad , every movement of npc causes frame drop . Both of them are good game , but they are terrible unoptimized , causing annoying to gamers. I think that with such technology can solve the problem . [eek]

Hi there. You made great work! You provide hialgo for farcry 3. Does that means, that I may use it for every cryengine games? Every of those games use dx9 and this dll is your app entrance point. I mean what difficulties in providing this?
But if that so may you support the UDK games? Its cover almost 50% of games, as far as I know.
P.s. Sorry for my english.

Hi TGrade,

You asked an excellent question! Excellent - in the sense that we asked ourselves exactly the same thing, and are already working on an answer. So here it goes:

1) You are correct in assuming that whatever works for FarCry3 *should* work for all cryengine games, but there are a few caveats:
a) Every game, regardless of what engine it is based upon - will do some (sometimes minor) modification to the graphics engine. So there is that...
b) Most of the complexity behind HiAlgoBoost - ironically - comes not from the graphics, but from control: how to ensure best responsiveness, smooth resolution and framerate transitions etc. And this is going to be different for every game, but we are working on a "generic" approach to solve that. For now - HiAlgoBoost for FarCry3 is specifically tailored for that game, and it will not work for other games. But..... (see 2)

2) We have been working hard on making our technology "generalized"/"horizontal" - i.e. to seamlessly support many games. And we made some progress. We have released a (free) tool that works for DX9 games - it is called HiAlgoSwitch (not HiAlgoBoost!). The idea is simple - it allows to toggle the resolution instantly between 100% and 50% with a click of a middle mouse button. In this way we effectively separated the technology behind HiAlgoBoost into two parts - graphics and control. And the "SWITCH" is basically a proof (and a test base) that the graphics part of it is in fact "generalized". You can download it here http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/41549/ and see what games you can make it work with.

And please tell us if you find a game with problems - and also if you find a game that works well. Also - it currently works for UDK games ;) Feel free to contact us with more suggestion - you obviously know what you are talking about.

Good luck!

I would agree that Dark Souls would be a good choice for the next boost.

@dephius
Why do you think
Dark Souls would be a good candidate for the next boost?

My mistake, I hadn't considered Dsfix.
